The Liebe Group encompasses a land area of approximately 1,000,000 ha. It is a leading “grass roots” group in Western Australia and has a continually growing membership. This grass roots drive ensures the group remains relevant, timely and valuable to the local farmers and gains industry cooperation. The Liebe Group was established by a small group of progressive farmers in 1997 in order to address the concern of the local area being isolated from existing agricultural research and development.

The Liebe Group provides access for members to new ideas, innovation, research and networks all over Australia. Other benefits for members are the social networks created with other highly educated and successful farmers. One of the Liebe Group’s main achievements has been the quality and amount of information it has been able to present through field days, workshops, annual R&D results publication and results from project work conducted since its inception.

The Liebe Group has regular consultation with members to ensure the group remains relevant. Methods of consultation that the group uses include an annual review of the strategic plan, member surveys, farmer visits and event evaluations. The Liebe Group strategic plan drives the direction of the group. The Liebe Group has earned respect from growers and industry by its proactive nature, innovation, independence and healthy group dynamics.
